DSC_2406The Journey of Belonging

At IAC, we don’t talk much about membership. Instead, we emphasize Belonging in the family.

Belonging is about relationships. There’s no “one way” to belong at IAC; each journey is personal, self-paced, and appropriate to where you are in your walk with God. At IAC, you belong when you feel like we’re your church home: it’s as simple as that!

Most people need some help navigating their way in a new church family. There are a few ways we can help you along the journey:

Visitor Card in the Foyer. Filling out a simple card after the service – it takes 2 minutes! – is extremely helpful in letting us know how we can bless you. It also gets you signed up for our (very helpful) weekly newsletter, IAC Notes, and sparks a conversation with someone at the table who will know your face and name. We even have mugs for first-time visitors that fill out a card!

Monthly Welcome Dinner. On the first Sunday night of every month, the Connections Team hosts a potluck dinner at Pastor Ken’s house. This is your chance to meet the Pastor and others at IAC, hear about the church, and ask any questions you want (even the hard ones!). You can email to get signed up for the next one.

Getting Connected: For many, the next step after a Welcome Dinner is connecting with a group, a mission opportunity, or another event. You can do all that by surfing our website or asking a friend. Or our Connections Team is also available to connect you to any of the church’s ministries that interest you. They are your best resource for knowing “how to get around” our family. Email if you want to know more…about anything!

 Affirming Belonging: Belonging Sundays

You can’t join a family without other members being involved. Every few months, we affirm and welcome those who feel like they newly belong at IAC.  On these Newcomer Belonging Sundays, we introduce you to the congregation, affirm our mutual commitments, and pray you into this new season of life together as a family.

Once a year, we have a Church-Wide Belonging Sunday, when every member of the family re-affirms their sense of belonging. This is also the week we have our Annual Meeting, updating the family on what’s happening behind the scenes at IAC. We hope you can join us for this important week, usually held in February.

About International Anglican Church

At IAC, we want the gospel of Jesus Christ to define who we are and shape what we do. We are rooted in the sacred traditions of the church, passionate about the Scriptures, and utterly dependent on the Holy Spirit. We were planted in America by the Anglican Church of Rwanda and have been uniquely shaped by that relationship.
