The Student Ministry Pastor will have primary responsibility for the overall ministry to students in grades 7-12.

- Have a day of rest (no church work) one day a week
- Meet with God each day to personally worship, pray, and be in Scripture
- Meet regularly with a soul companion (mentor, confessor, spiritual director, counselor, etc.)
- Invest in healthy relationships with family and friends
- Take 4 weeks of vacation annually from IAC work with no work communication or responsibilities
- Meet regularly with Pathway Pastor for updates, strategy, and encouragement
- Attend weekly Staff Team Meeting
- Lead monthly adult leader gatherings
- Meet weekly with the Kid and Student Team for joint planning and support
- Alignment with IAC
- Pursue IAC’s vision - Receiving and Releasing the Gospel that Heals Together - within area of ministry focus and ministry relationships
- Seek integration with IAC’s values - Relational, Authentic, Restful, Generous, Deep, Sent -as outlined at springsiac.org/beliefs
- Integrate IAC’s MAP, and ongoing work of the Transformation Team, into areas of responsibility
Adult Leader Community (25%)
- Recruit, Train, and Care for the adults who lead in the student ministry.
- Gather adult leaders 10x annually for prayer, encouragement, and preparation.
- Ensure awareness and enforcement of IAC’s Holistic Safety Policies, with focus on our Minor Protection plan.Lead the Student Ministry (60%)
- Create unique, highly relational, Pathway specific environments for IAC to offer comprehensive discipleship for 7-12 grade students.
- Opportunities to:
*** befriend students who are far from God and the church
*** respond to Jesus’ call to say yes to him
*** welcome the Holy Spirit to be formed increasingly in the likeness of Jesus
*** be sent as empowered servants into the world with the love of the Father.
- Lead Servant Academy, the student leadership team, such that they make the majority of leadership decisions and publicly lead in every student ministry environment
- Advocate for the full integration of young people in the life of the church
- Present or providing adequate staffing for all student ministry events
Parents (10%)
- Provide ongoing resourcing for Parents to be the primary spiritual influence in the lives of their students, including weekly communication, formation, and special event resources.
- Offer two parent specific classes annually, coordinating the the Kid Pastor
Contributing to other IAC areas (5%)
- Active staff member supporting other leaders and ministries
- Part of the Pastoral Care rotation
- Present and serving as assigned in Sunday Worship
This position requires a vibrant relationship with Jesus, a whole-hearted commitment to the heartbeat, pathway, and values of IAC along with high positive chemistry with IAC leaders and staff. Candidates should have impeccable integrity of character and deep competencies in emotional intelligence. Some key competencies or capacity to learn key competencies include: strong systems and administrative skills; leading teams, especially of volunteers; equipping and empowering volunteers; excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including in staff, small group, and large group settings; exceptional time management and executive ordering. All full-time IAC staff have set meeting schedules as well as the trust to set their working hours based on their job description and area. This role includes some responsibilities that will take place outside of normal business hours.
